We have to try and understand God if we are to understand ourselves. 

• He is the Creator, the Giver of Life.  This means that when He created men and women, they would also want to give life.  So we have a sex urge.  It is a God given urge, not just for procreation, but also for pleasure.
• He is the God of Love. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. So we also are made to love and be loved.  We need this.
• He is the God of order.  So He designed the male and female to be opposite, equal, yet complementary.   There was no other variation in sexuality.  The original design was heterosexual, to be attracted to the opposite sex.

Yet something has gone wrong.  People have disobeyed God.

Realising sex has the potential for good (procreation, pleasure) or evil, (eg AIDS, STD’s, rape, sexual abuse), God said sex should only be between husband and wife.  The Bible says they were naked and not ashamed, meaning sexuality was healthy and a happy experience.

Then God gave the first man, Adam and the first woman, Eve, the freedom to choose to obey Him and be blessed, or freedom to choose to disobey Him.
